Here is a look of some of the designs that I have been fortunate enough to gather in my time of artist shopping. Enjoy!

This if the first design that I recieved from my man DrewKast. I like the look of the character and while I know I mentioned it in the designs, I'm not sure if Bobby in the suit and tie is something that is going to work, we'll see though.

Here is a design of Molly by DrewKast again. This design is a little thing for Molly. I like her appearance but I think that she looks a bit old and a bit too formal here. However, this was a good first design by Drew

This is a design of Sage. The thing that I have against this design is that Sage isn't quite bulky enough. I would like Sage to look like a guy that could kick Cross' rear. He should look a bit more square jaw and Captain America type than this. The outfit however is something that I think will work quite well.

This is the first sketch I ever recieved of Bobby. The character at that time had a different last name which has been changed for various reasons. The sketch was done by Dann Phillips. Dann is the very talented artist who originally was going to be on the book but due to time and other projects, will be unable to participate on the book which is a disappointment.

This is another sketch by Dann Phillips. This is John Sage, the main villain in the first book. The design is a little different from what I'm looking for but the face, hair, etc. is exactly right.
This is a sketch of the character Otis that my roomate created. I absolutely loved the t-shirt which was all improvised by Dann Phillips. The only real complaint that we came up with was that Otis just isn't fat enough. I'm thinking of this character as being really fat and while he's bulky in this I was looking for a little bit more over the top. Still very well done.
This is the first sketch that I recieved of Violet. I thought this was very well done by Dann Phillips. I think he really took what was a pretty uninteresting design on my part and made it into something that has become one of my favorite character designs.
This is a design of Scribe. Another sketch done by Dann Phillips that I thought was very well done. I don't see any changes needed for this design and again I continue to be impressed by Dann's work.
This is a design on Molly, Mase, and Rucker. I thought that Mase was well done here, I like the outfit that he will be wearing the in book, (predominately in issues 10-12). Molly's outfit and body type was well done, but the eyebrows were a little too sinister and something about the hair just doesn't seem right. It's too thick and doesn't seem to be as light as I would like to see. Rucker's outfit is perfect, body type is great also but I would like to see more or a rounded head, much like Sam Jones III from Smallville. Other than that, Rucker is very well done.

Yet another sketch done by Dann Phillips. This character, Tituba, from Salem Witch Trial fame, was difficult because of the specific yet up to date nature of the design of this character. I thought this was very well done once again.

This is my favorite version of Nolan Greff. Greff is my favorite villain in the book because unlike Sage, and Violet, Greff is just a bad-ass who does was he does because he likes it. He resents Bobby and wants to hurt him and his old boss Rucker. Nolan is a lot of fun to write and I think he was represented well by Mr. Phillips again.

This is obviously the look of Sage when he's in uniform. The thing I like most about this character is his duplicity. He's able to grease some palms and get things done in his dealings with congress, yet he's also able to kick some ass if need be. This was done by Dann Phillips again and this shows Dann's strength, Super-heroes.

Absolutely Perfect! This IS Otis. This is the character I had in my head and I'm thankful that Dann was able to see this character as I do.

This is a quick sketch done by the talented Owen Gieni. Owen will be chipping in with some pin-ups and maybe a cover here and there. This is also the first sketch that I ever recieved of Otis. I also really like the designs of Molly, Rucker, and Bobby.
This piece was done by Christopher Hiltz, the one time would be artist for the CROSS book. This is a character sketch of Bobby and Nolan Greff. I like the look of Greff in this picture, although I tend to see him, a little less muscular, otherwise I think that rendision is great. Bobby here is a little on the young side for what I'm looking for. The design also is a bit bulky but I think it was a very good effort.

Another piece by Chris Hiltz. This is of Molly and Sage. The only think that I didn't really like about this sketch was that Sage's outfit was a little too bulky for me and I thought it should be more sleak. I thought Molly was well done here. |
